Two-stem and multi-stem displays fill a wider surface such as a dining table, sideboard or reception desk. A 50cm to 66cm display reads from across a room, while 35cm to 40cm suits a desk viewed up close.
Where artificial orchids work best
Orchids in this range are built with RealTex for indoor use and sheltered outdoor areas, and are not UV rated for prolonged direct sun. That suits bathrooms, windowless offices and hotel rooms where a live orchid would struggle with low light or dry air. Keep them back from a window that takes full afternoon sun.
Styling and pairing
White and cream orchids suit a neutral or timber interior, while pink adds a point of colour to a grey or white scheme. Do fake orchids look real?
The orchids here are built with RealTex, which carries colour and texture variation through each petal and leaf rather than a single flat tone. The arch of the stem and the spacing of the blooms follow a live phalaenopsis. Up close on a desk or vanity, the 35cm and 40cm orchids hold up well to a second look.
Can artificial orchids go in a bathroom?
Yes, and bathrooms are one of the best positions for them, since humidity and low light do not affect an artificial orchid. Wipe the leaves occasionally to clear any film from sprays or steam. Keep them away from a window that takes direct afternoon sun.
Can artificial orchids be used outdoors?
Only in sheltered positions, such as a covered verandah out of direct sun. The orchids in this range are not UV rated for prolonged sun exposure and will fade over time in an exposed spot. For outdoor flowering colour, look for products with UV Resistant in the title.
Are artificial orchids made of silk?
No. The orchids in this range are made from low-density polyethylene with RealTex detailing, which holds its shape and wipes clean. Silk orchids use fabric petals that crease and collect dust more readily.
Are artificial orchids suitable for hotels and reception areas?
Yes, they are chosen for hotel rooms, lobbies and front counters because they look the same every day with no care. Orchids in this range are not fire rated; where a brief carries a fire requirement, the FireTex range is tested to AS/NZS 1530.3 with a Spread of Flame Index of 0, and Group 1 certified options to AS 5637.1 are made to order on quote. How are artificial orchids cleaned?
Dust with a soft brush or wipe the leaves with a damp cloth every few weeks. A hairdryer on the cool setting clears dust from between the blooms. Avoid solvent-based cleaners, which can lift the surface finish.
