Designer Plants Five Key Technologies

Every tree in this collection stands 180cm or taller, with the 280cm olive the largest standard piece. RealTex leaf detail runs through each canopy, and the UV-rated olive and Areca models carry UVTex inhibitors bonded within the leaf.

Large Artificial Trees for Voids and Feature Positions

Large trees are bought to solve one specific problem: a tall wall, an open void or an entry that reads empty above shoulder height. This collection is deliberately short at 11 products, all 180cm and over, so the decision is between silhouettes rather than sizes. It covers olive at 180cm and 280cm, magnolia and cherry blossom at 180cm, Areca at 210cm, and reed grass at 180cm for a lighter vertical. The 280cm olive with olives is the largest standard piece at $1,748.95.

Scale and headroom

At 180cm the canopy sits just above standing eye level and works against a standard 2.4 metre ceiling. A 210cm tree wants 2.7 metres or more, or the canopy looks compressed into the plasterboard. The 280cm olive is a void tree: it belongs in a double-height entry, a stairwell or a mezzanine edge where it can be read from two levels.

Silhouette and mood

Olive is grey-green and fine leaved and carries a Mediterranean or coastal scheme, which is why it suits courtyards and pale render. Magnolia and cherry blossom bring flower colour and read best in an entry or a function space where the tree is the focal point. The 210cm Areca is the tropical option and fills width as well as height, while the 180cm reed grass gives a narrow upright line for a tighter gap.

If nothing here is tall enough

Beyond 280cm, trees are built to a nominated height through custom tall trees, which is the route for atriums and double-height retail. Under 180cm, the compact end sits in small trees and the general range in artificial trees. Vessels heavy enough to hold a tree at this scale are in planters, and measurements can be checked on 1800 617 341.

Frequently Asked Questions

How tall are the large artificial trees?

They start at 180cm and run to 280cm. The 180cm band covers olive, magnolia, cherry blossom, the Monstera Adansonii and the reed grass, the 210cm band covers Areca, and the 280cm olive with olives is the tallest standard piece. Anything above that is made to order.

What ceiling height does a 210cm artificial tree need?

Allow 2.7 metres or more. A 210cm tree under a standard 2.4 metre ceiling leaves only 300mm above the canopy, which makes the tree look jammed in rather than tall. If the ceiling is 2.4 metres, the 180cm pieces in this collection are the better fit and still read as large.

Are large fake trees stable, or do they tip over?

Stability comes from the vessel rather than the tree. A large fake tree is supplied in a nursery pot sized to drop into a heavier planter, and packing sand or gravel around the base of that planter is what stops a knock from toppling it. This matters most on the 210cm Areca and the 280cm olive, which carry the most weight high in the canopy.

Which large artificial trees can go outside?

The olive trees at 150cm and 180cm and the 210cm Areca are marked UV resistant, along with the reed grass at 180cm, and those carry UVTex inhibitors bonded within the leaf. The magnolia and cherry blossom are flowering interior pieces, and their petals are the first thing to pale in an open position.

What happens if a tree taller than 280cm is required?

It is built. Custom tall trees are made to a nominated height with the trunk form and canopy spread set to suit the space, which is the usual route for an atrium or a double-height retail void. The 280cm olive in this collection is itself drawn from that made-to-order range.

How do large artificial trees compare with the small trees range?

Everything here is 180cm and over and is bought as a single focal point, usually one per room. Small trees runs 50cm to 155cm and is bought in twos and threes to dress surfaces and fill corners. A common scheme uses one large tree as the anchor and two or three small pieces to carry the greenery through the rest of the room.

Do large artificial trees arrive assembled?

The canopy travels compressed to protect the leaves, so the branches are bent outward by hand once the tree is standing. Work from the trunk out and from the bottom up, and set the widest branches first. The delivery format for each tree is noted on its product page, and the 280cm olive is handled differently from the 180cm pieces.

Which large tree suits a Mediterranean or coastal interior?

Olive, without much competition. The grey-green foliage and open branch structure sit naturally against limewash, pale render and raw timber, and the 280cm model carries olives on the branch for close viewing. In a courtyard, the UV-rated 180cm olive is the version to use.

Commercial Grade. Made for Lasting Impact.

A single tree at this scale usually replaces an entire planting scheme, which is why it turns up in hotel entries, showroom voids, church and function halls, and reception atriums where the wall runs well past two storeys.

Access before height. A 280cm tree has to reach its position through a lift car or a stair, so confirm the door head and lift internal height at the point the tree is selected rather than at delivery.

Base weight. Trees over 200cm need a vessel heavy enough to resist a knock in a public thoroughfare, and the nursery pot is sized to sit inside one rather than to stand on its own.

Beyond the standard range. Where a void needs more than 280cm, trees are built to a nominated height, with trunk form and canopy spread set to the drawing.

Freight arrangements for oversize items are confirmed on enquiry.
