Choosing an Artificial Palm by Frond Shape and Trunk
A palm is chosen for its silhouette far more than its colour, and the fronds differ more than most people expect before they compare them. This range carries Areca, Phoenix, Kentia, Parlour, fishtail, fan and Travellers palm, with cycad and bird of paradise for a heavier tropical read. Heights run from a 45cm mini palm to a 190cm Phoenix, and multi-trunk forms at 180cm and 190cm add width as well as height. All are supplied potted and stand without staking.
Frond shape and how it reads
Areca is fine and feathered with arching stems, which softens a hard corner. Phoenix is stiffer and spikier in the date-palm manner and holds its shape in a busy thoroughfare. Kentia hangs darker and more formal, fishtail is broad and ragged, the fan palm is flat and pleated, and Travellers palm carries wide paddle leaves that fill a wall on their own.
Single trunk or multi-trunk
Multi-trunk forms such as the 180cm Hawaii palm, the 190cm multi-stem Hawaii and the 180cm multi-trunk fan palm spread outward and suit an open corner or a wide alcove. Single-trunk palms take a narrow gap beside a doorway or between two windows. Where a pair frames an entry, matched single trunks read cleaner than two multi-trunk pieces.
Position and light
The Areca at 50cm and 210cm and the Phoenix at 135cm and 180cm are UV rated and hold colour in an open courtyard or beside a pool. Everything else belongs indoors or under a roof. Are fake palm trees suitable for outdoors in Australia?

Every palm in this range is supplied potted, though the pot type varies. The Travellers palms at 120cm, 160cm and 180cm come in a decorative pot ready to stand, while several Areca models ship in a plain nursery pot intended to sit inside a chosen vessel.
Can artificial palm fronds be reshaped after unpacking?
Yes, and they usually need it. Fronds are folded in for transit and are bent out by hand, working from the trunk outward so the arch of each stem is set before the leaflets are separated. Areca and Kentia take the most attention because their leaflets sit closest together.
Which palms suit a poolside setting?
The UV-rated Areca and Phoenix models, since chlorine splash and open sun are the two things that age an untreated palm fastest. A rinse with fresh water every few months clears salt and chlorine residue from the fronds. Avoid the real touch indoor pieces in that position regardless of how good they look at the pool edge.
