Product details & specifications

The Monstera is the plant everyone recognises and almost nobody keeps alive indefinitely. Live ones need bright indirect light, get leggy in a dark corner, and are toxic to cats and dogs. This one is 100cm of the same silhouette, with none of that.

The leaves are the reason to buy it: large, glossy and deeply split, on a potted tree form rather than a bushy clump. Built in LDPE with integrated RealTex foliage, so the splits and the leaf sheen hold up at close range.

Safe in a house with cats or dogs. Live Monstera deliciosa contains calcium oxalate and is toxic to pets if chewed. This one is SafeTex certified, with no heavy metals or VOCs, and nothing to poison anything.

Properly split leaves. The deep fenestrations are what make a Monstera recognisable. Young live plants take years to produce them. These are there on day one.

Works in a dark corner. No light requirement, so it holds its shape and colour in the internal rooms where live Monsteras stretch, yellow and go bare at the base.

Tree form, not a clump. 100cm on an upright potted form, which reads as a specimen beside furniture rather than a pot plant on the floor.

Built for indoors. RealTex foliage is not UV rated. Keep it inside or fully sheltered. For direct sun, choose the UVTex outdoor range.

Where the 100cm Monstera works

Living rooms and open-plan spaces. Beside a sofa or in the gap between bookshelves, where the split-leaf silhouette does more visual work than a plain green shrub of the same size.

Homes with pets. The main reason people give up on live Monsteras. This one removes the problem rather than managing it.

Offices, studios and co-working floors. Recognisable, contemporary and completely stable in a room with no natural light and nobody assigned to plant care.

Setting it up

Arrives potted and ready to place. Angle the leaves outward and at different heights so they overlap rather than sitting in one flat plane, and turn a few to show the underside. Overlapping leaves at varied angles is what makes a Monstera read as real. Allow roughly 80 to 100cm of clear diameter. Stand the pot on the floor or drop it inside a decorative planter.

Keeping it looking new

Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth every few weeks. Large glossy leaves show dust more than fine foliage, and a wipe restores the sheen immediately. For a deeper clean, Eco Plant Cleaner and a microfibre cloth. Keeping it out of direct sun through a window protects the colour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe for cats and dogs?

Yes. Live Monstera deliciosa contains calcium oxalate crystals and is toxic to cats and dogs if chewed, which is the most common reason pet owners give it up. This one is SafeTex certified, with no heavy metals or VOCs, and no sap, soil or pollen.

Are the leaves actually split?

Yes. The deep fenestrations are moulded into every leaf. On a live Monstera the splits only appear as the plant matures, so young plants have plain leaves for years. This one has the mature leaf form throughout.

How much space does it need?

Allow roughly 80 to 100cm of clear diameter for the leaf spread and 100cm of height including the pot. It suits standard 2.4m ceilings and works beside furniture or in a gap between shelving.

Can it go outside?

Only in a fully sheltered position out of direct sun. RealTex foliage is not UV rated. For balconies, courtyards and poolside positions, the UVTex outdoor range is built for it.

What other Monstera sizes are available?

The range runs from a variegated 90cm through to 145cm and 150cm potted trees, plus an Albo variant. The 100cm is the mid-scale option for standard rooms.

What is covered if something is wrong with it?

A 12-month warranty covers defects in materials and construction. Orders ship Australia-wide with door-to-door tracking, with timings listed here. For anything else, call 1800 617 341.
