Product details & specifications

At 180cm this magnolia works more like furniture than a plant. It fills the vertical space beside a stairwell, a high entry or a lounge corner, with an open branch structure that keeps the room feeling light rather than crowded.

The appeal is the leaf and the branch line, not flowers. Magnolia foliage is broad, glossy and leathery, on spreading branches with visible gaps between them. That reads as architectural where a dense-canopy tree reads as a green mass. Built in LDPE with integrated RealTex foliage.

Foliage only. No blooms. This is the green magnolia, sold for its leaf and branch architecture. If flowers are what the room needs, this is not the tree.

Fills height without filling the room. Open branching lets light and sightlines through, which matters in an entry where a solid canopy feels heavy.

Broad leaves that hold up close. RealTex builds colour variation and texture into the leaf rather than printing it on, which is what separates a magnolia from a generic green tree.

Nothing to do once it arrives. No watering, no light, no leaf drop on the floor below. SafeTex certified materials, with no heavy metals or VOCs.

Built for indoors. RealTex foliage is not UV rated, so this belongs inside or in a fully sheltered position. For direct sun, choose the UVTex outdoor range.

Where the 180cm Magnolia works

Entries and stairwells. A stairwell void is hard to furnish. At 180cm with an open canopy, the magnolia gives the space something to read above eye level without blocking the walkway.

Living and dining rooms. Against a blank wall or beside a window, where the branch line does the work that a picture would otherwise do.

Hotel lobbies and reception. Scale at the entrance without a plant-hire contract, and no tired-looking tree greeting guests on a Monday.

Setting it up

Arrives potted and ready to place. Bend the branches outward and downward from the trunk to open the canopy, varying the angles rather than spreading them evenly. Allow about 1.2 metres of clear diameter so the spread reads properly. Cornered too tightly, the branch structure is what gets lost. Stand the pot on the floor or drop it inside a decorative planter.

Keeping it looking new

Dust the leaves with a dry cloth every few weeks. Broad leaves collect more dust than fine foliage, so a wipe-down matters more here than on a fern or a palm. For a deeper clean, Eco Plant Cleaner and a microfibre cloth restore the sheen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 180cm Magnolia have flowers?

No. This is the foliage magnolia, supplied with broad green leaves and no blooms. It is bought for the leaf shape and branch architecture. If a flowering tree is the brief, call 1800 617 341 and the team can point you to an alternative.

Can it go outside?

Only in a fully sheltered position that never gets direct sun. RealTex foliage is not UV rated and sustained Australian sun will fade it. For a courtyard or poolside position, the UVTex outdoor range is built for it.

How much space does it need?

Allow roughly 1.2 metres of clear diameter for the branch spread and 2.4 metres of ceiling height. The spread is the point of this tree, so a tight corner works against it.

Is it safe around children and pets?

Yes. SafeTex certified materials, with no heavy metals or VOCs, and no pollen, sap or soil. Live magnolia foliage is a mild irritant if chewed. This one is not.

Will the branches hold their shape?

Yes. Each branch is wired and holds its position once bent, and the canopy can be reshaped at any time if the tree moves rooms.

What is covered if something is wrong with it?

A 12-month warranty covers defects in materials and construction. Orders ship Australia-wide with door-to-door tracking, with timings listed here. For anything else, call 1800 617 341.
