Planters and pots are hardware rather than foliage, so neither UVTex nor RealTex applies to them.
Potted Plants, Trees and Planters to Finish a Scheme
This range holds the pieces that finish a room rather than form it: potted plants for surfaces, floor-standing trees and palms, and the premium pot range they sit in. Potted plants begin at a 19cm succulent bowl and run through 40cm lavender, 50cm peace lilies and orchids to 66cm. Trees and palms cover 105cm cycads, olives from 125cm to 180cm, a 170cm fiddle leaf fig and 180cm areca palms. Planters run from a 40cm cylinder to matched sets of three to six in matt white, matt black, matt grey and marble.
Matching plant height to planter
A tree between 150cm and 180cm needs a floor planter with enough base to look settled beneath it, which is what the 40cm cylinders and the pedestal-base marble planters are made for. Plants under 60cm belong on a counter or shelf, where the 19cm succulent bowl and the 35cm phalaenopsis orchid do the work. The rectangular troughs, supplied in threes, divide a space rather than mark a corner.
Positioning around a room
Olive, ficus and magnolia trees anchor a room and want a corner with light behind them rather than a blank wall. Yucca grass at 75cm and 115cm, cordyline at 90cm and nandina at 140cm fill the band between a floor tree and a tabletop plant. Two portable boxwood hedges at 50cm and 100cm high are stocked here for a low edge, with the screening range in vertical gardens, screens and panels.

Matched sets keep a finish consistent across a room in a way that single pots bought over time rarely manage. The premium pot range covers ribbed, tapered bowl, ovate, teardrop and cylinder forms in the same finishes, so shapes mix without breaking the palette. Despite the name, this is not a hardware or accessories range. It holds finished potted plants from 19cm to 65cm, floor-standing trees and palms from 50cm to 180cm, two portable boxwood hedges, and a large part of the premium pot range including cylinder, ribbed, ovate, teardrop, marble and trough planters. Installation hardware sits in a separate collection.
Are fake plants and artificial plants the same thing?
Yes, the terms are interchangeable and Designer Plants uses artificial throughout. On a floor tree the wording matters far less than the trunk: a fake tree built on a moulded plastic trunk gives itself away at close range, which is a problem on a 180cm olive or magnolia standing beside a reception desk where people wait next to it.
What size planter suits a 180cm artificial tree?
A floor planter with a wide base, such as the 40cm luxury cylinder or a rounded marble planter with a pedestal base, gives a 180cm tree the visual weight it needs underneath. Anything narrower reads top-heavy even when the tree is stable. The 180cm areca palm is supplied knock-down, so check the assembled spread before committing to a planter diameter.
How does this range differ from the planters collection?
This page mixes plants and planters together so a tree and its pot can be chosen in one pass. Planters and pots is the complete pot range on its own, with sizes and forms that are not carried here. Use this page when the plant is the starting point and the planter follows it.
Which plants in this range are suitable for outdoor positions?
The items marked UV resistant, which include the 75cm and 115cm yucca grasses, the 60cm and 105cm cycad palms, the 150cm snake plant, the 150cm topiary shrub and the two portable boxwood hedges. These carry UVTex inhibitors bonded within the leaf. The orchids, peace lilies and lavender are made for indoor positions and will lose colour outdoors.
Do the planters come in matched sets?
Yes. Sets of three, four, five and six are stocked depending on the form, covering ribbed rounded planters, soft tapered bowls, egg-shaped ovate planters, teardrop balloon planters and rectangular troughs. Buying a form as a set is the simplest way to keep matt white, matt black or matt grey reading identically across a room.
Which plants here suit a shelf or a counter?
Anything under roughly 60cm. The 19cm potted succulent bowl, the 35cm single stem phalaenopsis orchid, the 40cm lavender and the 40cm and 46cm butterfly orchids all sit comfortably on a counter, sideboard or open shelf. The 75cm hanging string of pearl beads works on a high shelf where the trail has room to fall.
Do artificial trees and potted plants need maintenance?
No watering, feeding or repotting. A dust two or three times a year keeps the leaf surfaces reading correctly, and the larger leaf forms such as the fiddle leaf fig and the bird of paradise show dust sooner than the fine-leafed olives and nandinas. The height set on the day of delivery is the height it stays.

This range is specified as the finishing layer on office fitouts, hotel lobbies, apartment common areas and display homes, once the screening and wall work is already resolved and the space still reads empty at floor level.
Sets are the efficient unit. Planters supplied in sets of three, four, five and six cover a floor plate in a single line item and arrive in one finish, which removes the tone mismatch that comes from ordering pots individually across a project.
Three height bands. Specifying at roughly 20cm to 60cm for surfaces, 75cm to 140cm for the middle band and 150cm to 180cm for floor anchors gives a fitout depth without needing a plant in every corner.
Marble and matt finishes hold up. The marble, matt white, matt black and matt grey planters are made in the same forms across sizes, so a later stage can extend a scheme without a visible join between old and new stock.
