Before Our Collaboration
The client had invested in a privately owned tennis court that was well-built in every structural sense. The court itself was ready to play, but what surrounded it wasn't.
The perimeter fence was fitted with a standard green shade cloth windscreen: functional, but flat and visibly deteriorating at the base where weed growth had accumulated in the gap between the mesh and the synthetic turf edge.
Neighbouring houses were partially visible through and above the cloth, and the court as a whole lacked the sense of enclosure the client wanted. Luckily for them (and us!), they reached out after looking for alternatives to the shade cloth.
Since they wanted something that would last longer, look better, and add character to the space, a high-quality artificial green wall seemed just the right option.
The Problem
The standard shade cloth approach is almost universal on suburban tennis courts, and it almost universally looks the same: a featureless green surface that serves a functional purpose but contributes nothing to the experience of playing on the court.
The specific issues at this property were typical of the category:

The client was an active player who wanted the court to look like a considered outdoor space and something worth photographing, showing guests, and spending significant time in. And since the fundamental problem wasn't the fence itself but the finish, an artificial vertical garden was just what they needed.
During the Process
Our team worked with the client through a free consultation to assess the full perimeter fence run. We measured the court dimensions, checked the wall surface, and calculated the total panel count required to cover all four sides from the base of the fence to the top of the shade cloth line.

We suggested the Jasmine Hedge Screen panel for this project without hesitation. For a tennis court application, the Jasmine panel is the strongest choice in our range for three reasons:

Because chain-link fencing is an open, ventilated substrate, the Jasmine's lightweight construction and flexible grid backing mean the panels sit flat against the mesh across the full run without sagging or pulling, even in wind.
We calculated coverage at 1 square metre per panel and confirmed the full order before installation day.
The Solution
We attached the Jasmine panels directly to the chain-link fence using UV-rated cable ties through the panel grid at regular intervals, with the integrated clip-and-lug system connecting adjacent panels along all four edges.
Where panels met the fence posts, we trimmed the grid backing with scissors to follow the post line precisely, adjusting foliage by hand to close any visible gap at every post.
The close-up of a single installed column shows exactly what the Jasmine foliage does to a chain-link surface: the mesh behind it disappears completely, replaced by a dense, textured surface with natural colour variation between the darker and lighter green tones of each leaf.
Once the full perimeter run was complete, the court was an entirely different environment. The panels cover the chain-link from base to post height, and the neighbouring house is visible only above the panel line. Everything at court level is enclosed.
The service lines and baseline of the synthetic surface in the foreground sit within a space that now has character.
