The distinction worth drawing is between a UV-certified panel built for permanent outdoor use and an indoor decorative panel. A fake plant wall without UVTex inhibitors bonded within the leaf will fade in an exposed Australian position, which is the single most common reason a wall is replaced early.

Yes. Colorbond and timber both take panels directly using screws and washers through the panel backing. Masonry and rendered brick need a plug fixing. Where the surface cannot be penetrated, panels mount to a batten frame or a mesh backing that sits proud of the wall and allows airflow behind the greenery.

The UV-certified panels in this range are. They carry UVTex inhibitors bonded within the leaf rather than sprayed onto the surface, which is what stops the colour washing out over a summer. A 5-year UV warranty is provided on all certified outdoor panels.

Green wall panels are designed to be seen as a continuous planted face across a large area, with mixed foliage and varied leaf forms. Artificial hedges are uniform in leaf and colour, and are used where the intent is a clipped, formal line rather than a lush wall. Many projects use both, with hedging at ground level and a green wall above.

No watering, feeding or pruning. An occasional rinse with a hose clears dust and pollen from the panel face. Unlike a living wall, there is no irrigation line to fail and no drainage to manage behind the surface.
